So I'm working in a document, periodically saving it throughout the day and also relying on Word's autosave features to back me up...well, I do the final save and BAM! "Word has encountered an error, would you like to send the report?" No thanks, just restart Word and recover my file....
Find the recovered file...wait a minute, it's not here? Okay, well, just save the 4 recovered copies as different names and sort out the mess in Explorer....File...Save..."Word has encountered an error, would you like to send a report?" You bet your ass I would...let these assholes at Microsoft know how much their product sucks. Word "recovers" my files and restarts.
Now I'm presented with my most recent working copy of my document...where'd that come from suddenly? Well, regardless, I've caught onto your games Word 2007....File-Save as - "Word 2003 format". I've got you now Word!
Oh but wait, evidently Word 2007 and 2003 handle TAB STOPS(!) differently and my formatting is all FUBAR. Well, at least the document is saved. Let's look at the other recovered files...oh, here's another copy of my latest revision...file- "save as word 2003"....same messed up formatting.
Okay, I'll just hit "undo" and save it as word 2007....except undo doesn't apply here....
let's save the other recovered versions and get the F outta here! File-save-> CRASH!....."It looks like you're having frequent problems with Microsoft Office...would you like to run a dignostic test on YOUR COMPUTER???"
WAIT, SO YOUR PIECE OF SHIT SOFTWARE CRASHES, AND IT'S SUDDENLY A PROBLEM WITH MY COMPUTER????? WTF?
For the record, the diagnostic check came back clean.....and my document's still fucked! If I didn't have good self-control, my wireless keyboard would be in pieces against my office wall...
